The building of the Mennonite Boys' Secondary School

The Mennonites placed a great emphasis on education. A secondary school was established in the Khortytsia colony in 1842, and the first capital school building was constructed in 1870 on Main Street (Istomina Street, 16).

In 1890, two-year pedagogical courses were organized and a school was built on the same courtyard. In 1891, a new school building was added to the main building of the secondary school. It was placed perpendicular to the existing one, which allowed the creation of a schoolyard.

Today, the Mennonite secondary school complex continues to be used as an educational institution. Unfortunately, over time, the clock tower with the bell was lost.
