The history of the VIE theater-laboratory began in 1991 as a result of an experiment by a group of actors and musicians together with the KLIM workshop. In 1997, the theater received a room on the island of Khortytsia with a chamber hall for 90 seats. Today the VIE theater is called the best theater in Zaporizhzhia, which works in the field of theatrical experiment. He is a laureate of international festivals in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkov, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv. The repertoire of the theater is distinguished by a variety of genres.
In the theater you can see the performance-parable, phantasmagoria, tragedy, solo performance, dramatic poem or lyrical comedy. For 27 years of fruitful creative work, the VIE theater has become the cultural center of Zaporizhzhia, on the basis of which exhibitions of painting, musical and literary performances, happening and evenings of modern choreography are held . Since 2006, the international theater festival Zolota Khortytsia has been held. The goal of the VIE theater-laboratory is to search for new, relevant forms of expression, to create a multifunctional open area of contemporary art.
