The Museum of Book and Printing of Ukraine is an important center for preserving the book culture of Ukraine. Founded in 1972, the museum opened its exposition in 1975. Visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the book, starting from the handwritten books of Kyivan Rus to modern book printing. The exposition tells about the origin of printing in Ukraine, the activities of Ivan Fedorov, and the development of book printing in different regions of the country. The exhibition also presents rare editions, printing equipment, and books that have become part of the national heritage. The museum is located in the building of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra printing house, founded in 1615, which is itself an architectural monument.
